Ok, I had to do it.  I had to visit Sedona, Arizona.  My experience there was….mixed.  I was led to believe that Sedona as a highly spiritual place with a large energy vortex.  It might have been at one time, but now it is a bastion of commercialism and 1 percenters.  It may be my inner New Englander, but I was disappointed.

The area is a marvel of splendor, the vistas and the red sandstone mesas are just spectacular.  The super expensive homes and upscale resorts, hotels, golf courses and homes built in places where they shouldn’t have been built in the first place, not so much.  I generally found the place and the people there to be pretentious and snobby.  I stopped to take a few photos of Oak Creek Canyon (Coconino National Park), but all in all I found it to be a commercial overbuilt mess with a lot of traffic.  I did not stop to take any photos of that.  There are some architectural gems there to be sure, but mostly I found shameless retail.
