Day 2 of my journey. I stayed near syracuse last night in a travel plaza on the New York State Thruway (I-90). It served we well since it rained overnight. I got back on the road around 4 am. I got out to western New York past Niagra Falls and started to look for gas and a decent cup of coffee. The gas I found. Weirdly it was more expensive in Westfield NY than it was in the travel plazas. The decent cup of coffee turned out to be more elusive.

West field turned out to be interesting in that there were grapevines as far as the eye could see. Westfield is a lovely little town with a really nice Main St. which turned out to by US Rte. 20. However when I first got off the highway,

So after exploring the town on foot and getting fuel. I got back onto I-90 heading west. I figured there had to be starbucks somewhere. even some of the travel plaza’s had Starbucks. Nope. No joy. I kept driving west. I went past Erie PA and into Ohio. “Hey Siri, where’s the nearest starbucks. Siri kept pointing me 20 miles back the other way to Erie. I gave up with Siri. I opened Google maps. Google maps was telling me the same thing. hmmm. So changed the search terms. “Coffee shops near me.” Scribbler’s Coffee 3.7 miles away. Perfect. Got off the highway and headed north to Geneva OH. Crossed over the railroad tracks and into the parking lot. Just as I got out of the car a train went by and it had to be doing at least 70 mph. Thank goodness for Scribblers. They’re small local roaster which, to me, is even better than going to Starbucks. 20 ounces later. I was back on the road.
