On Friday morning, it was nice to wake up in a fairly quiet place. It was really nice except for the fossile fuel power plant nearby. The midwest has had a lot of rain this summer. I snapped a photo with my phone before heading out for the day. I noticed that the water was really high and flowing pretty fast. Needless to say stepping out on the dock at the boar ramp in the park made me a touch nervous.
Even with all of that, the river is really beautiful, though not that large even here considering my proximity to the headwaters. My friend Bill from Tulsa wold call it a creek. He would pronounce it, “Crick.”
